Sustainable Design
Alfonso + Brown is a LEED Accredited firm through the U.S. Green Building Council and Bay Friendly certified. We offers an integrated sustainable approach to the design of landscape systems at both the master plan and site-specific level.
What is LEED? In the United States and in several other countries, around the world, LEED certification is the recognized standard for measuring building sustainability. Achieving LEED certification is the best way for you to demonstrate that your project is truly “green”.
The LEED green building rating system – developed and administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington D.C. based, nonprofit coalition of building industry leaders – is designed to promote design and construction practices that increase profitability while reducing the negative environmental impact of building and improving occupant health and well-being.
Services include expertise in sustainable design innovations including grey water collection and irrigation systems, green roof technologies, rain gardens, water conservation and storm water management. If desired, we will provide certification program submittals. Through literature and seminars, the firm keeps pace with new local and state-wide regulations and innovations in sustainable design.
